My new favorite scary show is “Paranormal Witness” on Syfy. It is awesomely scary and exciting. I think the scariness comes from the fact that it is told from the point of view of actual people. Pretty nifty. Of course, being that “Paranormal Witness” is a scary show it has to abide by all the normal rules.

Syfy- Wednesday nights. Check it out.

There is something about fall that makes me very nostalgic. I can’t decide if it the weather, football, the smells, but either way, the past has been on my mind a lot lately. For some unexplained reason, my mind drifts back to high school. It’s a little odd, just because I am for sure NOT one of those people who thinks high school was the best time of my life. Not hardly. But I cannot stop thinking about my small town, football games at my high school, homework assignments, working part time at a grocery store, etc.

I honestly can say that I can (for the first time) relate to how Kenny Chesney feels in 90% of his songs. He is the king of nostalgia.

Anywho, I have come up with a thought about why we recall old memories- it’s either 1) When things aren’t currently going as planned or 2) you are one of those people who never grow up. You know the types- the ones that still attend the high school football games…loaded. I happen to fall into the former category. Lately, things have been in a state of disarray. I had thought I was going to buy a house, and then I decided that wasn’t for me right now. There has been some minor drama with family- nothing serious, just irritations. Work has been pretty stressful/frustrating.

I have decided that this “feeling” will pass and things will return to normal, just as soon as I figure out what normal is. In the mean time, I might take a trip back to my hometown and indulge in my nostalgia.

Ok, ok. After my post of the celebrity girl crushes, I have received questions from folks asking who made the cut for my Top 10 celebrity man crushes. Brace yourselves kids- you won’t find Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt here. I mostly go for the guys who are quirky and cute. So without further ado…My Top 11 (See what I did there? I pulled an “American Idol” and put one more in my Top 10- it was too hard)

11) Ryan Reynolds- I have a friend who is obsessed with Ryan-so I now have more appreciation for him than I used to. I always thought he was cute, and apparently People magazine concurs. He’s also a stellar actor and goes so well with Sandra Bullock….and we all know how I feel about her.

10) Seth Myers- who wouldn’t love the rockstar head writer on Saturday Night Live?

9) Michael Buble- The VOICE! Oh my gosh. He transports me back to the 40s and 50s and I love that. He could sing the phonebook day and night and it would be totally fine. I mean, I would buy that CD.

8 ) Jeffery Donovan- So serious and sexy- he makes Florida look so cool on “Burn Notice.”

7) James Roday- Quirky, funny and damn likeable. I felt confident calling him a comedic actor, but he can rock a serious role like no one’s business. He’s got loads of charisma. I say it comes from the nose.

6) Patrick Dempsey- Its the hair, man; all about the hair.

5) Colin Firth- The accent gets me every time. And now he has an Oscar to go with that sexy British accent. Way to go, Mr. Darcy.

4) Michael Vartan- A great actor he is not- honestly he’s probably the least talented man on this list, but I couldn’t help myself. He’s just so gosh darn pretty.

3) George Clooney- You know how they say wine gets better with age? Same goes for Clooney. He oozes sexiness without even trying. Since I am an “ER” fan from way back, I remember how he can take almost any role and give it the “Clooney” treatment; meaning, he can play any role with that smug, schoolboy, swagger and it’s totally fine by me.

2) Ed Norton- The way he can immerse himself into roles is unbelievable. I love how distinctive his voice is. His talent is what makes him so sexy.

1) Bradley Cooper- This may surprise some of you. I first fell in love with Mr. Cooper on “Alias” (much like Mr. Vartan). Ugh- the eyes, the acting, the voice. Yes, I know about the gay rumors, but I assure you; in my mind he most certainly is straight. Very, VERY straight.

It has been awhile and I hope everyone had a good holiday. Here is a quick run down of all things Annie-

First we traveled to Dallas for the Big 12 Championship game. It was incredible…except that we lost. Even so, the trip was amazing. Dr. Big got quite sick and lost his voice during the Dallas trip, but he was a trooper. He hardly ever gets sick, so it was a long illness.

Then came all six Christmases and my birthday. They were all fun and it never ceases to amaze me how different families are (in a good way).

Finally the new year happened and I got raging sick. I haven’t quite shaken it yet, due to some relapsing and not getting enough rest, but it definitely wasn’t the way I planned to ring in the new year.

So, after all of that, I am ready to get back to it. Ready for a regular schedule again. Despite how the new year started out, I am convinced that this will be a good year. I’m not sure what makes me think that, but there is something in the air.
